Preface	The familiarization and acquaintance with the maritime background is the backbone for understanding the maritime world with its basic needs. It will increase understanding as well as competence.
Objectives	Basic skills: To get knowledge of the maritime world, of conditions and living on board. Basic theory. Optional: Visiting of a shipyard.
Content	Giving an overview of the worldwide maritime traffic Familiarization with different types of vessels Maritime organizations and regulations Insurances Living and working on board Shiphandling Safety onboard Optional: Visitation of a shipyard
