Preface	The familiarization and acquaintance with the AIS and VDR equipment shall increase efficiency as well as safety and security on board ships of all types.
Objectives	Basic skills: Legal aspects and basic theory. Advanced skills: Special functions and replay module.
Content	IMO AIS and VDR standards and requirements. Basic technical background of AIS & VDR. Getting to know and applying the AIS and VDR equipment with its components and add-ons. Configuration of AIS transmitters/receivers. Simulation of complex situations and practical application. AIS overlays in ECDIS and radar.
Certificate	IMO Model AIS / VDR course certificate issued by MET
Comments	Course duration and complexity depend on customer requirements and participants state of knowledge. Combination with other courses and topics is feasible.
