Preface

Situation based training regarding engine failures is not only essential for a safe shipoperation. Nowadays, the interconnections between the Engine and Deck Department, the forming and establishing of well communication links are major factors for solving problems and protecting the human life, environment and vessel. Due to these reasons, an Engine Team Management Training in combination
with a Bridge Team Management Training Course during a running simulation is the key element of an effective management group to improve safe and secure operations of a vessel.

  • Situational awareness.
  • Engine bridge teamwork and resource management.
