Preface The increasing traffic density on waterways leads to complex situations. Management of personal skills and effective resource planning is inalienable nowadays. Training and exercising these skills in extreme, uncommon but realistic scenarios is of extreme importance and exclusively practicable in a simulator. It will increase efficiency as well as safety and security.
Objectives Advanced skills: Practical exercises of handling emergencies of all kinds.
Content
  • Emergency management in theory and practice.
  • Copying complex scenarios and making decisions with different kinds of requirements under stress.
  • Bridge-teamwork and resource management.
  • Crew organization.
  • Situational awareness.
  • Handling of conflicts.
  • Communication skills.
  • SAR.
  • Proper passage planning.
  • Basic shiphandling theory.
  • Safety precautions, stability examinations under rough weather conditions.
  • Manoeuvring in shallow waters and narrow passages.
  • Simulation of complex scenarios in different weather conditions with various types of ships (according to customers' requirements).
Certificate IMO Model BTM course certificate issued by MET
Comments Simulation sea areas, ship models and additional requirements have to be adjusted with customer. Course duration and complexity depend on customer requirements and participants state of knowledge. Combination with other courses and topics is feasible.
