| Preface | The ECDIS systems on board of ocean going vessels are a substantial prerequisite for captains and watchkeeping officers as a primary navigational aid. Official electronic charts in appropriate, type approved infrastructure will replace paper chart in the next years continuously. With proper use and knowledge about system limitations, potentials and legal foundation it will help to increase efficiency as well as safety and security on board. |
